Instructions for oral presentations

For the oral presentations a LCD data projector (beamer) and projection screen connected with a Windows PC is available. PowerPoint and Adobe Reader are the only presentation programs installed on the PCs provided. Any software not compatible with windows operating system and private PC will not be allowed. Unfortunately, we cannot offer 35mm slides projector facilities.

Setting up: The presentations can be hand in in the morning before the sessions as well as during the coffee and lunch breaks directly in the rooms your session will be taking place. Please load your presentation onto a USB stick, ensure it is free of viruses, and clearly labelled with your name for later return. Please give your presentation file a filename consisting of the session number and your name. For organisational reasons, personal laptops cannot be used for presentations. Speakers are requested to ensure that their talks are uploaded before the start of each session.

Timekeeping: The time available for oral presentations is 15 minutes (12 minutes for the talk and 3 minutes for discussion), and for keynote speakers the time available is 30 minutes (25 minutes for the talk and 5 minutes for discussion). PLEASE STAY WITHIN YOUR ALLOTTED TIME, as a matter of courtesy to other speakers and the audience, and to help us to synchronize timings across sessions for people who need to move between different symposia.

The session chair will let you know the signals they will use if necessary to ask you to bring your presentation to a close. Please keep your answers to questions brief and to the point, to allow as much time as possible for discussion during your session.

Instructions for poster presentations

The poster board space is 210 cm high and 95 cm wide. The maximum sized poster that will fit on the board is A0 portrait (a A0 landscape poster will be too big).

The poster will be displayed during the entire period of the conference, during coffee and lunch breaks as well as after the talk sessions. The posters of the general, Palaeo-Mesozoic and Cenozoic symposia will be disposed together but in different rooms of the conference building. Special poster sessions with refreshments will be on the 27th and 28th after the oral sessions.

Posters will be possible to be attached from August, 27, 2014 8 a.m. and can be removed on August, 31, 2014 until 9 p.m.

Presenting authors are kindly asked to be available to present their posters during the special poster sessions on August 27-28, 2014.
